Research Update

This research update is particularly useful for those teachers who are teaching the GCSE. The first article provides readers with a way of teaching Hinduism and Buddhism through the method of dialogue, especially as it appears within some of their key religious texts. In particular, this provides a way through which pupils can realise the complex and diverse ways in which texts can be interpreted and it helps prevent a more ‘dry’ engagement with sources of wisdom and authority. The second article focuses on the ideas that could be used whilst exploring some of the more thematic elements of the GCSE, especially those that look at environmental issues. This piece is a very early summary of a PhD thesis and it will be interesting to see how this research progresses in the future.
