There are few universal experiences in life, but I am willing to bet that all teachers have at some point been stood in front of a group of children who will swear blind that they have never before been given the information that you know for an absolute fact you gave them in the last lesson. Fortunately, there has been a great deal of pedagogical research with the express purpose of reducing the frequency of these events.
