He is currently Principal of Hertford College, Oxford, having previously been a diplomat and government advisor. Tom talked about ideas around education and about building a curriculum for children at the beginning of the twenty-first century and in a time of growing global insecurity and crisis. He said that there was a big divide in society, as a rule, between those who were willing to build bridges and those who were wanting to build walls. As Ambassador to Lebanon, Tom had seen the results of this division at first hand.
